How we make a cup of tea with Houji-cha
1 What to prepare:
- 5g - 7g (0.2 - 0.3 oz) of Houji-cha tea leaves
- A cup or a mug and a teapot
- 160ml (5.5oz) of boiling water (preferably filtered water)
2 How to steep Houji-cha:
- Put tea leaves into the pot.
- Pour boiling water into the pot.
- Wait for about 30 seconds and pour the infused water into a cup in 2 to 3 portions - this back and forth motion helps tea leaves mix well with hot water in the pot.
- First, enjoy the scent rising from the tea water, then the refreshing taste of the roasted green tea.
3 Instead of hot water, you may brew Houji-cha with hot milk and sugar. It's a roasted green tea latte.
4 How to keep tea leaves fresh:
Unless your package is airtight, we recommend you store teas in a tea can. This is to prevent oxidation and maintain its scent.
